Specification Quality Checklist: 097 Settings Foundation
Purpose: Validate specification completeness and quality before proceeding to planning Created: 2026-02-15 Feature: specs/097-settings-foundation/spec.md
Content Quality
- No implementation details (languages, frameworks, APIs)
- Focused on user value and business needs
- Written for non-technical stakeholders
- All mandatory sections completed
Requirement Completeness
- No [NEEDS CLARIFICATION] markers remain
- Requirements are testable and unambiguous
- Success criteria are measurable
- Success criteria are technology-agnostic (no implementation details)
- All acceptance scenarios are defined
- Edge cases are identified
- Scope is clearly bounded
- Dependencies and assumptions identified
Feature Readiness
- All functional requirements have clear acceptance criteria
- User scenarios cover primary flows
- Feature meets measurable outcomes defined in Success Criteria
- No implementation details leak into specification
Notes
- This spec intentionally defines a minimal “settings substrate” with one pilot setting to enable incremental adoption.
- Operational run observability is intentionally out of scope for settings mutations; audit entries are required for each successful mutation.
- SC-001 was tightened to a save + reload verification to avoid ambiguous time-based acceptance.
- Tasks explicitly include validation negative-path tests (unknown key + invalid value) to match FR-004/FR-005 edge cases.
- Plan Complexity Tracking table was deduped to a single “None” row.
